NEW HOUSE, TWO ROCK, CO. DUBLIN

A new home and a studio for a photographer.

CLIENT BRIEF

The clients wanted their small 1970s bungalow to be replaced with a new home that would address all their needs including incorporating a photographer's studio. The site faces south with superb views over the surrounding countryside but these were largely lost to the owners as the bungalow was surrounded by tall coniferous hedging

DESIGN

The perimeter trees were removed to open up the superb views to the south. The main part of the new house follows the traditional farmhouse form and is integrated into its surroundings by connecting elements such as the stone-clad kitchen/dining block, the free-standing timber-clad studio as well as stone walls and other landscaping elements.

The house & studio provide superb inspirational views over the landscape.
